Building SustainABLE Communities is a highly acclaimed and hugely popular conference that draws delegates from all sectors to celebrate the move toward social, cultural, environmental, and economic well-being. Overview

The Fresh Outlook Foundation is hosting its 6th Building SustainABLE Communities conference November 25th-28th in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Delegates from government, business, NGOs, and academia, along with students and members of the general public, will gather to learn from each other about accelerating the move toward more vibrant and resilient communities. Innovative and interactive opportunities for information-sharing amongst sponsors, speakers, delegates, and exhibitors will be peppered with social and cultural activities to guarantee more meaningful and memorable outcomes.

In keeping with its promise to build on the success of each successive conference experience, FOF is partnering with world-renowned leadership company FranklinCovey to deliver the first two conference/training days. You can register for the full four days, by the day, or the half-day.

You’ll learn how to build trust and optimize working relationships with stakeholders from all sectors to help accelerate community climate action and healthy communities’ initiatives.

November 26th, 2013
You’ll explore ‘3rd-Alternative Thinking’ and discover how to apply it to food security and community climate action.

November 27th, 2013
Sessions include ‘Wisdom from Award-Winning SustainAbility Experts,’ and ‘Change at the Speed of Imagination,’ and will showcase successful strategies and adaptations in leadership, ‘degrowth,’ community planning, building design and construction, infrastructure, economic development, environmental protection, and arts and culture.

November 28th, 2013
Morning presenters explore the need to build sustainable communities using curiosity, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The afternoon features a number of workshops to address specific aissues such as transportation planning, public engagement, green economic development, healthy communities, zero waste, and water conservation.
