FOF founder and CEO Joanne de Vries recently completed an online training program through IDEO U called Insights for Innovation that encouraged her to see challenges differently and, therefore, consider out-of-the-box solutions. She’s keen to apply what she learned about human-centred insights and how they fuel innovation through observation, learning from extremes, interviewing, and immersive empathy. As her course project, Joanne explored seniors’ primary health-care needs in her hometown of Lake Country, BC. As a member of the Lake Country Primary Health Care Steering Committee, she will share her three key insights and the rationale for each this fall. Overall learnings will contribute to the design of future FOF public engagement events, including the Breakfast of Champions October 13th and the Fresh Dialogues November 17th/18th.
