ECOLOGICAL IMPERATIVES BREAKOUT: The Last Straw – Exposing the Growing Swell of Plastic Pollution

November 23, 2017
2:30 pm  -  2:45 pm

Midway Atoll is a series of small islands located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, just about equidistant from California and Japan. Midway, BC is a small town with a big role in railway history. Between these two disparate places lies a lot of land, a big ocean, and a plastic pollution problem.

During their presentation, Jan and Ryan will share their connection to both places, and how this connection has opened their eyes to the true cost of plastic pollution. They will also discuss ways to mitigate our collective use of single-use plastics.
