LOCAL PROSPERITY BREAKOUT: Community Transformation – A Tour of the Centre For Rural Creativity
Peter Kenyan asks, “What do you care enough about to act upon?” It is an inclusive question about building community revitalization from the grass roots up. The Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity (CCRC) is an innovation, education, and arts centre set in the village of Blyth in the heart of rural Ontario.
Building on the new work tradition of the nationally recognized Blyth Festival, the Centre brings artists/innovators to the community to create new work, tutor students in project-based activities, and lead community workshops for artisans and hobbyists. As an epi-centre for disruptive thought, the CCRC gathers people and ideas from a range of disciplines, to create unique projects and to facilitate positive action for stronger rural communities.
