WATER STEWARDSHIP FORUM 1: Making Informed Watershed Decisions – The Need for Quality Data

November 22, 2017
10:15 am  -  10:30 am

The communities we live in today, and their built foundations, are based on historic and outdated climate and hydrometric data; this information is not suitable for future planning. Many of the stream hydrometric stations across the province were discontinued throughout the 1980’s, and weather stations are being deactivated. This has left us constrained to use either out of date information, or surrogate information and many assumptions to make decisions.

This presentation will provide an overview of information and data to consider collecting, and the current tools available to integrate a changing climate into planning decisions.
