Val Napoleon

Associate Professor

Val Napoleon is an Associate Professor at the University of Victoria in the Faculty of Law, and holds the Law Foundation Professor of Aboriginal Justice and Governance Research Chair. She is also the Director of the Indigenous Law Research Unit. Val’s research focuses on Indigenous legal traditions (Indigenous legal theories, pedagogies, law and precedent, legal institutions, and legal research methodologies), Indigenous feminism, citizenship, self-determination, and governance.
