What Is an ECO-BLAST Kids Camp?
Can you imagine a large group of kids singing “I am the Future”? Or dancing to “Up Your Watershed”? Or creating eco-art masterpieces? Or picking vegetables to make soup and salad for each other? That's the power of the ECO-BLAST Kids' Camp & Concert, co-hosted by the Fresh Outlook Foundation and the Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs.
ECO-BLAST featured a four-day camp for children ages 5-12, followed by a concert. Campers learned to perform eco-logical songs by Voices of Nature, and connected with nature and each other through hip-hop dance, circus yoga, and eco-art. The children also learned how to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem by saving water and energy and reducing waste.
This multi-year camp was held in both Kelowna and Kamloops and events were full, with about 60 kids in each. The Artist Response Team was amazing and the art instructors were awesome.

Measurable ECO-BLAST Outcomes
Following a previous ECO-BLAST Kids' Camp & Concert, FOF conducted an online survey to determine the likelihood of participants changing their behaviors based on what their children learned at the camp.
An estimated 94.45% of families stated they are likely to adopt more sustainable behaviours as a result of what their child(ren) learned at ECO-BLAST.
